Rise Up Coffee has been an independent small-batch coffee roaster and retailer since March 2005. Rise Up originated from an explosive combination of ambition and circumstance. Tim Cureton had what would prove to be a life changing coffee experience while traveling home from the Peace Corps service. His love affair with great coffee had begun. Utilizing a $16,000 business loan, Cureton along with co-founder Abby West, opened the first Rise Up Coffee. Rise Up began as a coffee trailer, before there were TV shows and movies about food trucks. What started in a parking lot in a town with a population of 1,029 has evolved into five high-volume cafe locations, a very active online store and many new exciting wholesale relationships.
Rise Up is known for its people. Now staffed by over a hundred amazing people, among them is Tim’s lifelong friend and business partner, Noah Kegley who joined the company in 2010 and now serves as Head Roaster.
Recently voted ‘Maryland’s Best Coffee’, Rise Up represents 15 years of total dedication to sustainable coffees, Certified Organic + Certified Fair Trade.

My family and I were in Ocean City for the weekend and on our way out we stopped by this coffee shop. My caramel iced latte was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. No joke! Starbucks or Dunkin couldn’t top it. The rest of my family loved all their coffee choices! I also got the sunrise burrito and added chorizo sausage. Adding the sausage was the right move it made it even better! And it was bigger than I expected (which isn’t a bad thing at all😂) if you want some delicious coffee and great food items I definitely recommend this place. And I’ll definitely be back next time I visit!

Friendly service. This place can have long lines but it moves fast and orders come out quickly. I cant reccomend the rise up burrito with salsa verder enough...so so good. My son loves their everything bagels and a la carte scrambled eggs. Great cold brew coffee. Coffee is organic and fair trade.

Stopped by on vacation with my family for a mid-day caffeine treat. I had a chocolate banana coffee smoothie, which was a nice sweet treat heavy on the chocolate (in a good way.) My daughter had a cinnamon toast crunch frozen matcha, which she enjoyed. Great service and atmosphere with a chill vibe.
